At the bottom of this post, a one-minute video explains it in an easy-to-follow way, with illustrations and side-by-side comparisons. Watch the video ▶

The 256GB iPhone 18 Pro went up $100. The 1TB model went up $300.

Let’s look at the iPhone 18 Pro price list. The base model, 256GB, is $1,199. That is $100 more than the iPhone 17 Pro’s launch price. But the 1TB model went from $1,499 to $1,799, up $300. The increase is not the same for every tier.

256, 512GB, 1TB, 2TB. Each step up adds $200, then $400, then $600. The new 2TB model is $2,399, $1,200 more than the base model.

A 2TB tier now sits above the old ceiling, and each step up costs more than the one before it

That is almost the price of two base models.

Apple has not given a reason for the increase. Some analyses point to rising memory costs, but that is only a guess.

An iPhone has no memory card slot, so you cannot add storage later. A larger tier only makes sense if you really need the space, for example for video work. Prices vary by region.

💡 FAQ

Q1. What does each iPhone 18 Pro storage tier cost?

The US prices are $1,199 for 256GB, $1,399 for 512GB, $1,799 for 1TB and $2,399 for 2TB. The 2TB tier is new this generation; last year the 6.3-inch Pro stopped at 1TB.

Q2. Is it more expensive than the Galaxy S26 Ultra?

Not in the US. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is $1,299 for 256GB, so the iPhone 18 Pro is $100 cheaper. The screens are a class apart, though, at 6.3 and 6.9 inches.

Q3. Why did the price go up?

Apple has not given a reason. Some analyses point to rising memory costs, but that is only a guess. Since an iPhone has no memory card slot, a larger tier only makes sense if you really need the space, for example for video work.
